Balakrishna Confirms Akhanda 2 Release, Set for Clash With OG

Ending weeks of speculation, Nandamuri Balakrishna has officially confirmed that his upcoming action-packed sequel Akhanda 2: Thandavam is scheduled for a global theatrical release on September 25, setting the stage for a direct box office showdown with Pawan Kalyan’s much-awaited film OG.
While attending a jewellery store launch event in Eluru alongside co-star Samyukta Menon, Balakrishna addressed the media and dispelled rumors surrounding delays in the film’s launch. “The movie will release as planned, without postponement,” he stated, putting an end to ongoing chatter in film circles.
Production on Akhanda 2 has reached its final leg. A major action sequence, including the film's climax, was recently completed during an extensive shoot in Georgia. Sources close to the crew confirmed that this schedule involved pivotal scenes with Balakrishna and other principal cast members.
Directed by Boyapati Sreenu, the sequel continues the narrative of the 2021 blockbuster Akhanda, known for its strong mass appeal and intense storytelling. Composer S. Thaman returns to helm the soundtrack.
Producers Raam Achanta and Gopichand Achanta are backing the film under their banner, with high expectations of replicating the original’s success across regional and national markets.
